Presentacion

Cravirola, a small hamlet perched at 1200 m in the Mercantour mountain area, has been for 20 years the stage of an experiment in collective living, primarily focused on agriculture, but also incorporating the arts and political action. At the beginning or 2007, the FAR collective was created, to take over this enchanted place from its former occupants, who had decided to depart for land more open and less precariously perched (see Terres Communes ).

Full of ideas, energy, enthusiasm, and desire, a small group of friends flung themselves into a slightly mad adventure: to bring to life a small farm still inaccessible by the sacrosanct auto route, to govern it collectively following the principles of autogestion , to assure its income from agriculture at once modern and respectful of the environment, anchored in the reality of a world at once fascinating and revolting, and finally to make it into a place of vivacious exchange, sharing, and creativity.

FAR is productive! Our economic activity is primarily based on raising sheep and transforming their milk into products to sell at the local markets and fairs. We're also producing various aromatic and medicinal plants and honey. Our large vegetable garden supplies the farm and its visitors with plenty of fruits and vegetables.

We are receiving guests at FAR ! If you'd like to spend a few days away from the bustle of everyday life, participating in daily life on the farm, you can come volunteer! Participate in various tasks, projects, and apprenticeships and experience a different and engaged way of living. (see Visiting and Volunteering) Just contact us!

FAR is a place of discovery, exchange, action, meeting, creativity, and engagement with the countryside and humanity.
