The Collective
Four permanent residents comprise the collective. Volunteers come to lend to develop the activities of the farm and participate in an alternative lifestyle (see Volontariat ).
FAR is above all a project born from several years of fierce friendship between its four founders, and we believe that base lends solidity to our project. However, we remain open to new encounters, possibly leading to expansion in the future!
The members of the collective hope to combine their complementary skills deriving from their multidisciplinary backgrounds, in order to accomplish the various tasks necessary for FAR to function, but also to exploit every person's individual strengths. Our diverse backgrounds and interests encourage each member to take primary responsibility for certain aspects of the farm: be they caring for the animals or caring for the cheeses.
To get to know us better, our biographies in brief:

Ana-Maria : From her native Columbia , she arrived in Lyon to work as an au pair seven years ago. A planned stay of 12 months stretched on indefinitely, thanks to new friends, studies in Intercultural Psychology, and to a taste for this multicultural country. From these years in Lyon she keeps marvellous memories of those who helped her to integrate into French life and pushed her to engage more directly in alternative action. It is with FAR that she has decided to mobilise, in order to make for this world, albeit a small contribution, a place of meeting, exchange, and respect for others and nature.

Bastien : The real farmer of the group, who studied Agricultural Science, and who has been passionate about agriculture since the dawn of time. Imagine how happy he is to find himself in this tiny green corner of the world, caring for animals and working the earth. He has been long honing his political conscience and can finally cut loose. He envisions himself fighting big bad agribusiness with the rural folk of the world, guitar in hand.a real utopist!
Jean-Nicolas : Having studied engineering and renewable energy, he's rolling up his sleeves and preparing to build up his puny arms, until now more accustomed to the keyboard. Several years in Lyon permitted his to get involved in the associative scene (the famous bar, Le Bastringue) and to get interested in various sustainable alternatives. Always trying to change the world, it's his desire for concrete results and participative, collective activity that lend spring to his step. He awaits the revolution.
Geogeo : Having spent part of his childhood trotting about the forests and prairies of Normandy , observing nature and hunting (the hunter of the group, but a kind hunter), he was naturally inclined toward studying forestry, and then marketing. It being difficult to find work in the world of forestry, the temporary nature of his jobs left him time to invest in associative action. These two aspects, the environment and associative action, let him to this magnificent project in collective living.
